407 - False Reporting
A person will be guilty of a misdemeanor if they knowingly file a false report about a crime that did not occur or misrepresent the details of an actual event. This includes fabricating a crime, providing inaccurate details, or exaggerating the severity of an incident. The intent behind the false report must be to deceive or mislead law enforcement and/or Fire and medical services, causing a waste of resources and potentially hindering real investigations or medical calls.
